Position: Quality Control Inspector

Summary of essential job functions
- Inspect products prior to shipment
- Generate spreadsheets for data collection
- Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
- Possess clear communication (oral and written) skills
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Test incoming raw materials
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements/Skills/Education:
- MAS 500 knowledge
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Control function
- Microsoft Office proficient
- High School or equivalent
- Attention to detail and accuracy, problem-solving
- Ability work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
- Ability to frequently lift objects that are at least 10 lbs
- Constant walking of greenhouses which may at times be wet, hot and/or muddy

Position: Ornamental Grower Manager

Speedling, Incorporated, a global leader in the production of transplants and the development of horticultural products and technology since 1968, has a position opening of Ornamental Grower Manager at our facility in Blairsville, Georgia.
The primary role of the Ornamental Grower Manager is to efficiently and effectively produce quality ornamental plants through proper cultural practices.
Summary of essential job functions
- Maintain proper fertilization, growth retardant and pesticide applications to ensure quality ornamental production on a scheduled time line and maintain proper data for analysis.
- Manage cultural environments for each variety and report any problems.
- Generate accurate crop survey and crop forecast.
- Design “spray programs” and oversee such programs are carried out effectively while maintaining proper records for spraying and fertilizing.
- Train and supervise all growers.
- Assist with crop harvesting and quality control.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment for their area.
- Propose creative solutions to problems that may arise.
- Comply with all safety requirements.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years ornamental crop management experience, large-scale agriculture.
- Mechanical knowledge and agricultural tools expertise.
- Calibrate irrigation, fertilization and any spray equipment
- Ability to prepare daily written reports.
- Ability to manage assets - equipment, labor.
- Ability to budget, program, manage and schedule.
- Results-oriented manager.
- Bilingual English / Spanish is highly preferred but not required.
Education
- Ideal candidate should have a B.S. or M.S. in Agronomy, Plant Science or Horticulture.
